West Jefferson Medical Center needed to expand the Information Technology (IT) department. The IT department and mainframe server were located on the first floor of a stand-alone building, adjacent to the hospital. The scope of the project included the relocation of the mainframe server to the hospital, and the relocation of the technical staff to a nearby medical office building. While the modified area within the hospital required major electrical upgrades and a new mechanical HVAC system, the medical office building consisted of a simple build-out to accommodate new offices and cubicle areas.
Meyer Engineers, LTD conducted a Needs Assessment to provide emergency generator power for ancillary buildings on the West Jefferson Medical Center campus. Together with their consultants, Meyer defined a scope of work and developed a preliminary estimate for this study. Land surveys, geotechnical borings and in-depth electrical usage studies were conducted to determine the required generator capacity, most suited physical location, and approximate cost of installation for each emergency generator site.
West Jefferson Medical Center leased a tenant space on Belle Chasse Highway in Gretna, Louisiana. This space serves as the Family Doctors Urgent Care Clinic. Meyer Engineers, LTD designed a complete overhaul of the space. The clinic has a waiting area, reception/nurse’s station, three exam rooms, laboratory, x-ray room, public and employee ADA accessible toilet rooms, doctor’s office, clean linen storage, soiled storage, wheelchair storage, janitor’s closet, nurses station across from exam rooms, and an employee break room.
