Port of South Louisiana Administrative Building | Architecture Projects

The Port of South Louisiana is the largest tonnage port in the western hemisphere. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, many of the administrative offices that run this gigantic port are scattered throughout the sprawling port site. In 2016, the port decided to consolidate all the administrative offices into one location, the Port of South Louisiana Administration Building. Meyer Engineers provided architectural design and civil engineering for the project.

The new Administration Building will be approximately 20,000 square feet across three floors. The ground floor will contain parking and office space for security and maintenance. The second floor will house most of the administrative office areas, along with ancillary and support spaces such as conference rooms, lunch areas, copy rooms, filing areas, restrooms, supply rooms and storage rooms. The third floor, the executive level, will contain the offices of the Port's Executive Director and the commissioner's meeting room. The commissioner's meeting room will feature floor to ceiling windows facing the river, allowing employees and visitors an uninterrupted panoramic view of the Mississippi River.
