New Orleans Waterline Replacement Program

Meyer Engineers, Ltd. is working closely with the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board, New Orleans Department of Public Works, other engineering firms, and FEMA on the New Orleans' Waterline Replacement Program. Funded by FEMA, the Waterline Replacement Program works to repair undersized or damaged waterlines throughout the city. Meyer is responsible for the largest area on this citywide project.

The design includes upgrading existing 4” and 6” cast iron pipes with 8” C-900 PVC pipes, upgrading 12” cast iron pipe with 12” C-900 PVC pipe, and replacing all associated fire hydrants, valves, and water house connections in accordance with Sewerage and Water Board standards. Meyer is designing all construction documents in accordance with Sewerage and Water Board requirements.

Meyer has designed waterline replacements in the following neighborhoods: Broadmoor, Lower Ninth Ward North, Lower Ninth Ward South, Freret, Milan.
